Office 2016 Mac Search Not Working

broken image

As to the Mac, search for ‘mac best email client.’ You will notice that Outlook often is not even mentioned in comparisons. And yes, Exchange also doesn’t really matter on the Mac. If you really need it, you can use the built-in mail client. It is very reliable and has all features that most users need. Oct 18, 2016 One of our users has just been upgraded to Office 2016, but is running into the issue where his search results aren't matching the search results of his old laptop running Office 2010. For example, he will search for 'from:and' and Outlook 2010 will display all the correct results. Mar 04, 2016 I have a user who is having issues with his new Outlook 2016. When we added his profile to Outlook it successfully sync all folders. If he tries to search for specific email he gets a ' No Results' message. I already try adding a new identity. Making sure his identity has no special characters. I also tried following this KB, but is not working. New contributor - I have just upgraded Office 2016 for Mac to Office 2019 for Mac. The Spotlight Search option in Outlook no longer works - I get no results, even when I am looking at an email, and searching for a word or phrase or sender in that email.

We have a brand new iMac with Office 365 subscription including Office 2016. On the mac are 2 user accounts so that they can share the desk in the office. The first configured user (A) has no issues with anything and everything seems to work fine including all search functionality. The secondary User (B) cannot use the mac search functionality in Outlook or Spotlight to search mail prior to the installation date. The mailboxes were in existence prior to the arrival of the mac and search correctly in the Office 365 web client. Is there anything I can change to allow User B to be able to use the search capability in Outlook 2016?

In addition to this, we have another mac (User C) using the same Office 2016 and 365 package and theirs also works perfectly.

I have looked online at various topics where issues are similar but it seems that having 2 user accounts on the one machine is very specific and none of the standard fixes have helped in any way.

Hope someone can shed some light on this.
